Adobt "Never Alone" Doctrine?

Post by Outlaw on Sat Apr 22, 2017 4:08 pm

Hi,
I was thinking that we could adopt a ”Never Alone” doctrine during all missions (official and spontaneous alike).

The idea is that you ALLWAYS fly with a wingman, and NEVER fly alone unless you are the only one in that type of airframe. This inspires close teamwork, and ensures that we become better at coordinating.

So, the suggestion is:
• ALLWAYS fly with a wingman of the same type of airframe – Your wingman is designated before mission start by an admin or moderator.
• Decide with your wingman who will be Lead. Lead communicates with other flights, Mission Command and GCI.
• Fly in groups of two (or max three if there is an uneven number of players using the airframe)
• If you get shot down, don’t take-off unless joined by another player in the same airframe on take-off or immediately after (Your wingman may RTB and loiter over the airfield).
• If your wingman gets damaged and needs to RTB, escort him to a base, ensure that his plane is fit to land, follow him in, circle around and land yourself. Repair and rearm, and take-off together again.
• Act as a team at all time – join up after Air-Air combat, fly home together etc.
• The exception: You are the only player in that type of airframe in the mission– in that case you fly solo.

Let me know what you think

Using Simple Radio and setting up channels for groups as well as a common channel for XO commands. And also during engagement practicing radio silence so space is left for tactical communications from XO. Do you know if that can work on planes that don't have interactive cockpits? I know you can setup multiple channels on M2K for instance but I'm not sure how you do that or if it can be done with F15 for instance?
